RAM SETHU - WHAT IS TRUE?

Regarding Ramar Sethu – this is clearly Politics than Development. But One development is sure – for some politicians and political parties.

Please go through the following facts :

This is a plan thought before 150 years for British Ships to move across our sea shore. It was left out by all governments considering the huge expenditure low returns.

During 1970s & 80s it got attention by politicians and since there were no other alternate big sources of income for Tamil Nadu they were thinking of mobilizing the project. Nowadays exports in all other fields including Software and other Manufacuring Indurstries are going towards peak . Hence there is no need for this old project.

Now the CM says it is estimated at a little (?) cost of Rs. 4400+ Crores and give a huge income of Rs.110 Crores revenue per annum….. What a great developmental project?

Experts says By digging 12 m depth One can not sail the latest heavy weight ships built these days. And 9 Ships can be passed through this way per day which works out 3050 ships per annum…. This revenue is not even meet the interest rate of loan then when will you take up the profit? This issue was raised by not only public but with the authorities of AXIS BANK (Formerly UTI) who funds the major portion of the project.

This debate would be purely on technical grounds if only as a CM Karunanidhi has restricted his views on religious sentiments. He unwantedly responded with haste and converted this issue as a religious one.

BJP requested TR Balu so many times in the parliament for a debate but whenever this matter came, TR Balu made the quarrel worsen and the the house got disrupted many times. He cleverly says that it is started by Vajpayee… Yes but the truth is Vajpayee allotted 5 Cr to investigate all possibilities and 6 paths were provided. None of the paths were chosen and elections came. Even if BJP do this, it is also condemnable. DMK & PMK after eating 4.7 years of BJP pillaiyar prasadam (Cabinet Posting) got sudden thought of BJP’s Anti secularism and throwed the pillaiyar (BJP) in the sea.

BJP people first used Ram Temple issue to come to power and now use this again only for power…

If DMK is really concerned for development let them spent these 4400 Crores for pure separate education for 30 Districts. Let them talk to Sankara Mission, Christian Schools, Jaigopal Garodia set ups and other great institution to provide good education to poor children and pay the fees. It is very hard to change govt schools set up atleast for next 10-15 years. So think broad and let the people have real development. Don’t cheat people by assuring job opportunities of Harbour Coolies…(Yes only a maximum of 500 admin people with good qualification will be needed and all other employment will be of low profile).

The DMK says whoever opposes this project are enemies of development in TN…

Did anybody object the IT industries and other developmental projects?
Did anybody object Ford & Nokia?
Koodankulam, Kalpakkam, Six Way OMR, High Ways, MRTS, Uzavar Sandhai, Neiveli???

So, it is eminent that DMK is responsible for all the havoc created regarding Ramar Sethu….

If Ambika Sony Cultural Minister is responsible for ASI staff for submitting an affidavit in supreme court, then

Is it not TR Balu shipping Minister responsible for submitting a declaration for three months time request in SC? His men would have submitted in court for requesting time and here he is preceding a Bandh? Is this make any sense?

When a Government itself refuses to accept the court order then how can a normal man respect?

Let them have the Division Bench of Supreme court comprising Politicians rather than Judges....
